We are a coastal rowing club involved in recreational and competitive rowing and a member of the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association which has grown rapidly since beginning in 2010, with many clubs around Scotland.
We row out of Maidens Harbour in South Ayrshire and have just constructed our boathouse there to improve the use of our boats and increase their time on the water.
We row in the St Ayles Skiffs which are seaworthy, clinker built (using modern construction methods), fixed seat rowing boats, for four rowers and a cox. Currently we have one in the water which was built at a local school, Carrick Academy and it is maintained by members of the Club, and another currently under construction (we are always looking for people to help maintain the boats if woodwork is more your thing than rowing!).
The Club offers regular sessions, for those interested in competitive rowing, as well as social/recreational rowing for those who would prefer a gentler time on the water.
